Terms of Service

By creating an account or using the Skinreo application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Skinreo ("we", "us", "our"). Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use Skinreo. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

If you are using Skinreo on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

We do not knowingly allow users under 16 to register. If we become aware that a user is under 16, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

Skinreo is a personal skin tracking tool, not a medical device, clinical diagnostic tool, or healthcare service. Nothing in the Service — including skin scores, metric readings, AI insights, routine recommendations, or any other output — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• →Skinreo is not a substitute for professional dermatological or medical advice.
• →Skinreo results should not be used to self-diagnose or self-treat any skin condition or disease.
• →If you have concerns about your skin health, consult a licensed dermatologist or qualified healthcare professional.
• →Do not delay seeking professional medical advice because of something you read or saw in Skinreo.
• →Skinreo is not cleared or approved by any medical regulatory authority including the FDA (United States), EMA (European Union), or any equivalent body.

We expressly disclaim all liability for any health decisions made based on Skinreo outputs. You use the Service at your own risk.

Skinreo uses artificial intelligence to analyse facial photographs and generate skin metric scores. Specifically, we use OpenAI GPT-4o for photo-based skin analysis and OpenAI GPT-4o-mini for text-based insights, coaching messages, chat responses, and weekly recaps. You acknowledge and agree that:

• →AI-generated results are estimates, not clinical measurements. They are subject to error and variation depending on factors including lighting conditions, photo angle, camera quality, skin preparation, and the inherent limitations of AI models.
• →Results may vary between scans taken on the same day under different conditions.
• →The AI model may not perform equally across all skin tones, types, ages, or conditions. We are continually working to improve accuracy and inclusivity.
• →No skin analysis technology — AI or otherwise — is 100% accurate. Skinreo makes no warranty of any specific accuracy level.
• →You should not rely on Skinreo's AI results as evidence of any medical condition or the absence thereof.
• →The ingredient scanner feature sends your uploaded photo to OpenAI for real-time analysis. The photo is not stored on our servers. Results are AI estimates only and should not be used for medical or allergy-related decisions.
• →The AI coaching and chat features generate responses based on your scan data and the messages you write. These responses are AI-generated and do not constitute professional advice of any kind.
• →After each scan, our systems automatically generate and store AI-written insights and recommendations. You understand this processing occurs automatically without additional action from you.

We reserve the right to update, retrain, or modify the AI model at any time, which may result in different scores for the same skin condition over time.

To use Skinreo, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• →Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• →All activity that occurs under your account.
• →Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account at hello@skinreo.com.

You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of other people without their explicit consent.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, are inactive for an extended period, or are used in a manner that poses a risk to other users or to us.

You agree to use Skinreo only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not:

• →Submit photographs of other people without their explicit consent.
• →Use the Service to process images of minors under 16.
• →Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service.
• →Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service.
• →Attempt to circumvent or tamper with the AI analysis system.
• →Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent.
• →Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
• →Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
• →Upload content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or violates third-party rights.
• →Use the AI chat or coaching feature to seek or act upon medical, dermatological, or clinical diagnoses.
• →Upload photos via the ingredient scanner or scan feature that do not belong to you or that depict people who have not given consent.
• →Misrepresent Skinreo results as clinical or medical assessments in any professional context.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, legal action.

All content, technology, software, design, trademarks, and materials comprising the Skinreo Service — including the AI model, application code, user interface, and branding — are owned by or licensed to Skinreo and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

You retain ownership of the photos and other content you submit to Skinreo ("User Content").

By submitting User Content, you grant Skinreo a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, and use that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your photos or analysis results to train AI models, for advertising, or for any purpose beyond delivering the features you use.

The following data is generated automatically by the Service in connection with your use and is stored as part of your account:

• →AI insights and skin scores generated from each scan are stored and linked to your scan record.
• →Chat messages you send and the AI-generated responses are stored in your account for continuity. You may request deletion of these at any time.
• →Ingredient scanner photos are sent to OpenAI for real-time analysis and are not stored on our servers.
• →Product shelf entries you add are stored and associated with your account.

You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have the right to submit all User Content; (b) your User Content does not violate the rights of any third party; and (c) you have the consent of any person whose likeness appears in submitted photos.

You can delete your User Content at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on data deletion.

We provide Skinreo on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities.

We reserve the right to:

• →Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
• →Change features, functionality, or pricing (we will give reasonable notice of material changes).
• →Perform maintenance that may temporarily interrupt access.

We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Skinreo and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

• →Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
• →Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
• →Any damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated skin analysis results.
• →Any health outcomes resulting from use of or reliance on the Service.
• →Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
• →Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) €100 EUR.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability exclusions. In such cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Skinreo and its officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

• →Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
• →Your submission of photos or content that infringes third-party rights.
• →Your misrepresentation of Skinreo results as medical or clinical assessments.
• →Any breach of your representations or warranties under these Terms.

You may stop using Skinreo and request account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@skinreo.com.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive behaviour, or posed a risk to the Service or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 7, 10, 11, and 13 — will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lithuania, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer located in the EU, you may also be entitled to use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

We encourage you to contact us first at hello@skinreo.com to resolve any dispute informally before pursuing formal proceedings.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice within the app at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion.
